1. Product Overview

Liveida® Povidone-Iodine (PVP-I) Povidone-iodine (PVP-I), also known as iodopovidone, is an antiseptic used for skin disinfection before and after surgery. It may be used both to disinfect the hands of healthcare providers and the skin of the person they are caring for. It may also be used for minor wounds. It may be applied to the skin as a liquid, an ointment or a powder.

Product Appearance: Exists as free flowing, yellowish-brown or reddish-brown amorphous powder, non irritant with good stability, dissolve in water and alcohol, insoluble in diethyl ether and chloroform.

2. Product Features

PVP-I is a broad spectrum biocidal agent which is highly soluble than other iodine compounds like Tincture of iodine and Lugols solution.
PVP-I differs from iodine, in that it is less irritating to the skin and does not require iodides or alcohol to dissolve.
PVP-I being a polymeric iodophor, reacts with oxygen containing functional groups.
Excellent Solubility: High solubility in water and organic solvents makes it easy to formulate into different dosage forms, such as solutions, gels, creams, and mouthwashes.
